DESCRIPTION
For my thesis I focused on alleviating youth social anxiety in educational settings. To do so I conducted research in the form of a literature review, interview process and look into precedent studies. I based my research portion off of the control theory and behaviour setting theories which focus on a sense of personal control within a space and how different environments evoke certain behaviours and emotions within users.
Moving forward I used the key findings from the research portion to drive my design.
My key findings included: active learning style, connections to the outdoors and group settings
The final design demonstrates how by applying the design aspects I found through my research, it can help lower social anxiety levels in students when in these spaces and instead, increase their motivation, engagement and collaboration.
